Not much to report this time round, but I have created a Facebook Page for Blombo Tales. So if you consider yourself a fan and aren’t embarrassed admitting it then feel free to visit

You’ll also find a link on the Info tab that links to a simple application you can put onto your profile to show the latest comic.

Also a bunch of changes I made when I had webpage problems seemed to have changed the time my comics get uploaded… so while they are still Wednesday\Saturday in my timezone it is Tuesday\Friday in the US. I’ll fix this when I’m not a sleepy zombie maybe before you’ve seen this post… otherwise it will be afterwards.

Update: The change with timezones has been made… The next comic will still be up Wednesday in my timezone but if it is still Tuesday in your local time then you will probably be too early. I *think* it should correspond with midnight Chicago time but technology is a cruel mistress, with black shiny latex stretching over her sleek almost feline physique, looming above us on her stiletto heels as she strokes her predatory leather whip and growls.

Um, I think the point I was trying to make was that what I’ve planned mightn’t actually happen without me having a panic attack and having to fix something.

Before making this comic I had packed up my Modbook all ready to be shipped back for upgrade
epair. It’s been great but the backlight has stopped backlighting, it’s still under warranty though. The only problem is that since it’s such a niche product I have to ship it back to the US (from Australia). This comic and the one before done on my trusty old wacom tablet but it seems my brain has had to readjust (or it’s just the number of human figures I’ve had to draw) so this comic took a good 2~3 hours. Hopefully I’ll improve get faster during the time my modbook is away.

Hopefully Jayne and Eddie are beginning to look a little better in this strip. Man, introducing human characters has certainly increased the time it takes to make these comics. Not only do I have to keep the story building I can’t get away with a few squiggles anymore, I have to plan ahead to try to keep some sense of consistency with my characters. It might be hard, but a fun challenge is exactly what I need right now.

I hope you’ll continue to enjoy the new format at least as much as you did with the random strips. I knew I was taking a risk by doing this, and I truly don’t want to alienate any of you with the change… but this is the direction I feel that I should be taking Blombo Tales.

I’m still going to aim to keep this enjoyable, but maybe story-driven comics will create a slightly different kind of funny. Don’t worry though, when I think of random ideas that will not fit into the storyline I’ll still create stand alone strips for your amusement.

Yay! The seeds of an ongoing saga have just been planted.

Meet Jayne, she is a semi-studious (ie this is one of the rare times she actually studies) high-school student.

Update: Oh, I didn’t realise there might be some confusion before. Eddie is off-screen, not the little blombo. You’ll see him on Wednesday.

Update: It looks like my host may have changed some configuration settings… If you can only see the latest comic this is why. I’ve raised a support ticket and hopefully it will be resolved soon – if not I’ll have to change the PHP to compensate.
